From download to your first shared transaction — here's how to get set up.

📲 Download & Sign In

Family Manager uses Google Sign-In for a secure, stable account that survives reinstalls.

  • Download Family Manager from the Google Play Store
  • Tap 'Sign in with Google' and select your account
  • Complete the quick onboarding — enter your name and your partner's name
  • Your account is ready — no password to remember
  • Enable biometric lock in Settings for extra security

💳 Set Up Your Accounts & Opening Balances

Add your bank accounts, credit cards, and cash wallets so the dashboard reflects your real financial picture.

  • Go to Money → Accounts → Add Account
  • Add each account: Bank / Credit Card / Pay Later / Cash
  • Enter the current balance as the opening balance
  • For credit cards: add billing cycle day and payment due day
  • Transactions you log will update balances from this point forward

🔗 Pair with Your Partner

Family Manager creates a shared, synced space for two devices — yours and your partner's.

  • One partner opens Settings → Pairing → Generate Code
  • Share the 6-character code with your partner
  • Partner enters the code on their device and confirms
  • Both devices now sync transactions, accounts, and more
  • Each person's data appears correctly attributed to them

Common Questions

Is my financial data secure?
Yes. Data is stored on Google Firebase (asia-south1 region), which is ISO 27001, GDPR, and SOC 1/2/3 certified. We use Google Sign-In — no passwords are stored by us. Your data is never sold or shared.
How does SMS auto-parsing work?
Family Manager reads incoming bank and card SMS messages on-device to extract transaction details. No message content is uploaded. You can decline the SMS permission — all other features continue to work normally.
Can I use Family Manager without pairing?
Yes — all modules work for a single user. Pairing enables real-time sync between two devices. You can pair anytime after initial setup.
What happens if I reinstall the app?
Because Family Manager uses Google Sign-In, your UID is stable across reinstalls. Sign in again with the same Google account and your data is restored from Firebase automatically.
How does credit card balance work?
When you log a CC transaction, your bank balance is not affected — only the card's outstanding balance increases. When you pay the bill (Pay CC Bill), both the bank balance and the outstanding balance decrease. This mirrors real-world deferred billing.
