Our commitment: Spouse is built on trust. We designed this app for two people in a relationship — your love story is private, encrypted, and entirely yours. We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We do not use your content for AI training.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account details — name, email address, and profile photo via Google Sign-In
- Relationship content — journal entries, compliments, AMA answers, bucket list items, goals, mood check-ins, and pulse status updates
- Partner pairing — a unique couple ID generated when two accounts are linked
- Profile preferences — nicknames, anniversary date, birthday, and app settings
Information collected automatically:
- Usage activity — basic interaction logs used to calculate your Love Meter score and badge milestones
- Device information — Android version and device model, collected by Firebase for crash reporting only
How We Use Your Data
We use your information solely to operate the Spouse app. Specifically:
- To sync your content between you and your partner's device in real time
- To power features like the Love Meter, Badges, Weekly Recap, and Monthly Time Vault
- To send push notifications (nudges, reminders) that you have opted into
- To improve app stability through anonymised crash reports
We never: sell your data · share it with advertisers · use your content for AI training · read your private messages or journal entries
Data Encryption
All sensitive content is encrypted on-device before being stored in Firebase. This includes:
- Journal entries (Memories)
- Compliments (Soul Notes)
- AMA answers
- Bucket list items
- Mood check-in entries
Your couple ID is used as the encryption context, meaning your data is only readable within your private couple partition — not by us, and not by any other user.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in Google's cloud infrastructure. Firebase complies with GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 1/2/3 certifications — among the highest standards in the industry.
Third-Party Services
The app uses only the following third-party services — no advertising SDKs, no analytics trackers:

Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you disconnect your partner pairing or wish to delete your account entirely, contact us at nalkudilstudio@gmail.com and we will permanently delete your data upon request.
Children's Privacy
Spouse is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user under 18 has created an account, we will delete their data promptly. If you believe a minor has used the app, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request permanent deletion of your data
- Object to certain processing of your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a readable format

Changes to This Policy
